Lynn has served on the Board of Education for the past eight years and ten years prior as the Drummer reporter covering the Board. Both of her parents were public school teachers and she inherited a passion for education in her DNA — Lynn’s mom was an elementary classroom teacher and her dad was a high school science teacher. Her three children attended Granby schools over the past 20+ years with her youngest graduating in 2018.
Lynn has fought hard to reduce the tax burden while maintaining a high quality school district. She is the most fiscally conservative member of the Board of Education. She believes that our best course is to use research to guide our education policy. Proven curriculum and research-based programs are the best way to avoid education fads.
Her professional background is in law – she has worked in the public and private sector. She knows that our students face a competitive and fast-changing world when they graduate from Granby and they need to be prepared for the many challenges they will face. Lynn has made improving math and science education for all students a top priority. As the Board searches for a new Superintendent of Schools the stakes could not be higher. Lynn will bring stability and a deep understanding of the issues that face our schools, our town and our families.
